If you’ve been wondering why Rob Kardashian’s sisters and mom have not weighed in on his escalating situation with ex Blac Chyna, ABC News may have an answer. After Kardashian went after Chyna in on social media last Wednesday, July 5, including sharing nude photos of her, Blac Chyna got herself a lawyer. With help from lawyer Lisa Bloom, Chyna has already been granted a restraining order against Kardashian, who she claims assaulted her during their relationship. (Bustle reached out to a rep and lawyer for Kardashian regarding this claim, but did not receive a response.) When ABC News reached out for comment from Kardashian’s sister Kim Kardashian, they report they received a non-disclosure agreement, or NDAthat Chyna reportedly signed when agreeing to appear on the Kardashian reality shows. Bustle reached out to Kardashian and Chyna’s lawyer for comment on ABC News’ report, as well as to a rep for Kim, but did not receive any responses at the time of publication.
The document, which ABC reports they obtained from Kim’s representatives, reportedly shows that Chyna, real name Angela White, signed the agreement on June 10, 2016. People reported that a portion of the NDA states that the signer
A document like the NDA ABC News reports they obtained could keep Chyna from talking about anything regarding the family without getting herself into legal trouble. As People reports, a rep for Kardashian sending the agreement could “tacitly [suggest] she had breached the contract’s terms.” It is unclear at this point if that was the intent of Kardashian’s rep reportedly sending the document and whether Chyna actually did breach the terms of any agreement.
Chyna has spoken out post-Kardashian’s rant most notably in an interview with ABC News and through requesting and receiving a restraining order against him. According to legal documents obtained by Bustle, in the restraining order request Chyna accused Kardashian of abusing her during an April altercation. Chyna also alleged that Kardashian has been suicidal in the past and owned a gun. Kardashian’s lawyer and rep did not respond to Bustle’s request for comment on these claims.
Good Morning America on YouTube
In her Good Morning America interview, Chyna claimed she had not heard from anyone in the Kardashian-Jenner family. Chyna’s other lawyer, Walter Mosley, also told People that no one from the Kardashian-Jenner family has yet reached out to his client.
After Chyna was granted her restraining order, Chyna and Kardashian both made clear that their focus is on their daughter, Dream. Chyna told reporters outside of the courthouse on Monday, “I’m just going to get back to co-parenting Dream.”
Kardashian didn’t appear in court, but his lawyer Robert Shapiro told reporters that his client’s first priority is his daughter, as well. “Now we move forward to do one thing and one thing only,” Shapiro said, “whatever is in the best interest of the child.”
