Nawaz criticising judiciary to hide corruption, says Imran – Newspaper

CHITRAL: PTI chief Imran Khan on Thursday criticised former premier and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and his daughter, Maryam Nawaz, for ‘campaigning’ against the judiciary.

“They (Sharif and Maryam) are casting aspersions on national institutions, including judiciary, in a bid to hide their corruption,” he told a function of youths in Garam Chashma valley here on Thursday.

Mr Imran said his party could make electoral alliance with any political party, which was not afraid of accountability, as he’d advocated extensive measures against corruption in the country.

He said unfortunately, the country was ruled by robbers, who looted national resources and stashed the loot in foreign accounts.

“They (corrupt rulers) cannot be the people’s well-wishers. They are least bothered about the country’s development as well,” he said.

The PTI chief said the people should get united to make the robbers, who ruled the country, return the loot.

“After the Supreme Court’s verdict in the Panama Leaks case, we’ve intensified the war against the corrupt people,” he said.

Mr Imran said human resource was the country’s real asset and therefore, there was a need for investing in it.

He said after coming to power, the PTI would prioritise the development of education sector and training of youths.

The PTI chief said Chitral and some other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are more beautiful than Switzerland, which was a small but a prosperous country.

“We have all advantages that Switzerland has but we can’t benefit from them just because there is no investment in human development, which Switzerland has done,” he said.

Earlier, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak urged youths to become part of the PTI’s struggle for the elimination of ‘politics of corruption, loot and plunder and nepotism’.

He said the youths needed to be part of the PTI’s overall movement for public awareness against corruption as the party wanted to eliminate all approaches to corrupt practices and wrong and anti-public steps.

The CM said his government with the people’s support would dismantle the corrupt system and would stop corrupt politicians from reaching the corridors of power.

He welcomed member of Chitral’s royal family Shahzada Amanur Rahman to the party and assured him that him becoming of the party would turn out to be a right decision at the right time.

The CM promised the early provision of educational and health facilities to the people of Garam Chashma.

On the occasion, Shahzada Amanur said he had joined the PTI after finding it to be the best political party with honest leadership.
